McAleer & Rushe signed the deal with Findlater House Limited to convert the existing office Findlater House on O’Connell Street into a new generation hotel.
The ICA-designed scheme sets out to integrate an unloved 1970s 57,478 sq ft office block into the wider contextural fabric of O’Connell Street Dublin’s most famous thoroughfare..
To better integrate the building into its context its existing façade is to be be re-clad with a granite rainscreen system. The accommodation at ground floor is completed by
a new coffee shop unit which will enliven the corner of O’Connell Street and Cathal Brugha Street. The existing upper floors from first to fourth/fifth, will contain hotel guest rooms,
and ancillary accommodation. In addition to this the existing sixth floor will be removed and replaced, this will also contain hotel guest rooms.

The Holiday Inn Express Dublin – City Centre is set to open in spring 2016 will operate under a franchise agreement with existing Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) owner Findlater House Ltd.
