McAleer & Rushe Wins Property Oscar At Cannes
In a first for an Irish property company developer McAleer & Rushe has won a prestigious architectural award at MIPIM the international property conference
held this week in Cannes.
The Cookstown-based developer won the award for the best UK project for its W Hotel-led development on London’s Leicester Square.
The hotel designed by Jestico + Whiles provides an uber-cool luxury lifestyle experience with 192 guest rooms, including 17 suites, three WOW suites and one extreme WOW suite. In addition to the hotel, McAleer & Rushe’s ten storey building houses 11 two and three bedroom penthouse W Residencies and a 35,000 sq ft M&M’s World store which will be a European first boasting interactive attractions, merchandise and of course the much loved confectionary.
On Tuesday McAleer & Rushe announced from its stand in the London Pavilion at Cannes that it had put the building on the market with a guide price of circa £200m. Property agents Jones Lang LaSalle and Steerforth Partners are advising.
